Part 6에서 연결어(connector) 문제는 빈칸 앞뒤 문장의 논리 관계를 파악해야 풀 수 있습니다. 단어 뜻만 알아서는 부족합니다. 앞 문장이 무슨 내용인지, 뒤 문장이 그것과 어떤 관계인지를 읽어야 합니다.
연결어는 크게 다섯 가지 논리 관계로 나뉩니다. 추가 / 역접 / 인과 / 대조 / 예시입니다. 각 관계에 어떤 연결어가 쓰이는지 익혀두면 문제 풀이 속도가 크게 빨라집니다.

📌 연결어 문제 풀이 전략
- 빈칸 앞 문장의 핵심 내용을 한 단어로 요약한다. 긍정인지 부정인지, 원인인지 결과인지 판단합니다.
- 빈칸 뒤 문장과의 방향을 확인한다. 같은 방향이면 추가(in addition), 반대 방향이면 역접(however), 결과이면 인과(therefore).
- however와 therefore를 가장 먼저 구별한다. 토익에서 이 두 가지를 혼동하는 문제가 가장 많이 출제됩니다.
- 연결어 위치를 확인한다. 문장 맨 앞에 오면 쉼표(,) 뒤에 주어가 오고, 문장 중간에 오면 세미콜론(;) 앞뒤로 쓰이기도 합니다.
