Grammatically, it consists of a main verb and may include auxiliary (helping) verbs that express tense, mood, or voice.

동사구(verb phrase) 는 영어 문장의 엔진이에요.
주어가 ‘무엇을 하거나(행동), 어떤 상태에 있는지(상태)’를 보여주는 부분이며,
주동사(main verb) 와 조동사(auxiliary verb) 의 조합으로 이루어집니다.

 

예시:

• She is studying English.
• They have finished their work.
• The plane took off on time.

이 세 문장에서 is studying / have finished / took off
→ 모두 하나의 동사구(verb phrase) 로 작용합니다.
