🌿 Thinking in English: The Language of Letting Go

“To leave is not only to go away —
it’s to release, to trust, and to make space for what’s next.” 🌱

In English, “leave” often means more than departure.
It carries grace, independence, and peace
the gentle art of moving on.

💫 1️⃣ leave behind

To leave behind means to move forward without taking something with you.

Examples

  • Please leave your bags behind the desk.

👉 Feel it: “leave behind” = letting go with purpose — not forgetting, but freeing.

🌱 2️⃣ leave out

To leave out means to omit or exclude something.

Examples

  • Don’t leave out any details in your report. 📝
  • She felt left out during the conversation. 💬

👉 Feel it: “leave out” = something or someone stays outside the circle — intentionally or not.

🌿 3️⃣ leave for

  • She left the final choice up to her team.

🌾 6️⃣ leave aside

To leave aside means to set something temporarily apart — to focus on what matters.

Examples

  • Let’s leave aside personal feelings and discuss the issue.
  • She left aside her doubts and took the opportunity. 🌼

🌻 8️⃣ leave over

To leave over means to have something remaining.

Examples

  • There’s some pizza left over from last night. 🍕
  • Money left over will go to charity.

👉 Feel it: “leave over” = what remains after completion — leftovers of effort, memory, or care.

To leave alone means to not disturb or interfere.

Examples

  • Please leave me alone for a while. 🕊️
